Dr. Raskin Performs the following breast enhancement procedures:
Breast Augmentation
For women who desire larger, more voluptuous breasts, or those wanting to correct a disparity in breast size, Dr. Raskin can enhance the bust line through breast augmentation surgery. During the procedure, Dr. Raskin places the appropriate sized breast implant either above or below the chest muscle. The method of incision and placement that she uses will depend upon the individual needs of the patient. Once the breast implants have been properly positioned, the incisions are carefully sutured to minimize visible scarring. After healing, the enhanced breasts will appear larger, firmer and more symmetrical, providing the natural looking results that can greatly enhance a patient's self-confidence.
Breast Lift
Breasts that have lost volume and begun to sag as a result of pregnancy, weight loss. or aging, can be restored to a more youthful position and shape through breast lift surgery. During breast lift, Dr. Raskin removes excess skin that causes drooping, and then elevates and reshapes the breasts, creating a lifted, more ideal contour. For patients who desire additional breast volume, Dr. Raskin can enhance the lift with breast implants. After healing, patients are generally thrilled with the results of their surgery; visible scarring is minimal and the appearance of the breasts is dramatically improved.
Breast Reduction
Women with large breasts can often be bothered by neck, back, and shoulder pain due to the uncomfortable weight of their breasts. In addition, the appearance of the breasts can be the source of emotional distress. To help these patients, Dr. Raskin performs breast reduction surgery, which reduces the weight of the breasts and reshapes them to a more proportionate size. During the procedure, Dr. Raskin strategically removes excess skin, fat, and breast tissue, and then reforms the breast with carefully placed sutures. There is generally mild to moderate scarring after the procedure, however most patients agree that this is a small sacrifice for the overwhelming benefits achieved with this surgery. After breast reduction, the medical side effects of large breasts are greatly diminished, if not all together resolved, and many patients develop a more positive personal body image.

Breast Reconstruction
Patient shown is before and after a delayed autologous (with own tissues) breast reconstruction with a TRAM flap (Transverse Rectus Abdominis Myocutaneous Flap).
Reconstruction of a breast that has been removed due to cancer is one of the most rewarding surgical procedures available today. New medical techniques and devices have made it possible for surgeons to create a breast that can come close in form and appearance to matching the natural breast. Frequently reconstruction is possible immediately folllowing brest removal (mastectomy), so the patient wakes up with abreast mound already in place, having been spared the experience of seeing herself with no breast at all.
Breast reconstruction can be done with a tissue expander followed by an implant or with the patient's own tissues (autologous).
